Galveston, oh Galveston

Most of the people who read this page already know about our family's love affair with Galveston Island. And since several have asked how our property came out after Hurricane Ike, I thought I'd share...

We have an empty building lot on the west end of the island. Here are before and after views of it.





Here is a street level picture from across the main road...



And a view of our little dock back in the boat basin. The boat belongs to a gentleman who uses the slip.



Now, if you ask me -- the most overlooked story of this whole storm is the damage on the Bolivar Peninsula. It's just terrible -- see here. These folks really deserve our thoughts and prayers.
